Cybercrimes are on the rise ever since we became hugely dependant on technology. Today, by simply connecting devices online we get access to everything at our fingertips. Unfortunately, this has provided a golden opportunity for cyber criminals to hack into our systems, and to leak or disrupt our personal data.
About Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Every October is being observed as Cyber Security Awareness Month. It is a collaborative effort launched in 2004 between industries and the government. It is further co-led by Cyber security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and National Cybersecurity Alliance to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. It ensures everyone has the tools and information to stay safe and secure online. Throughout October, the awareness campaign emphasises on a particular theme. For this year the theme is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” Its objective is to empower individuals and organizations to be secure and protect their part by implementing stronger security practices, raising awareness, educating and training employees.
