Alarm Rationalization for the Oil & Gas Sector

10xDS automated the Alarm rationalization process for the Oil & Gas sector. The process is a systematic review and documentation of all alarmable tags in the control system with the objective of optimizing the number and quality of alarms. For these alarms, the control room operator needs to respond properly during normal operations and process upsets. The process faced a high amount of time for prioritizing alarms, and the time and resources involved in completing the process was high and with a large number of tags, the process was error-prone. 10xDS re-engineered and automated the whole process, bringing in maximum efficiency. The solution increased Plant Safety, reducing Alarm flooding. The whole cycle time was considerably reduced, and the solution also enabled improved control room operator decisions and more.
